Our Mission

Our mission is to serve our community by living out Biblical principles in our day-to-day lives. But can we be honest? We're kind of a mess, in that we try, but we recognize we are always in need of grace. So we hope that should you consider to join us, you'll do so not expecting perfection, but instead knowing that you can be yourself and join us as we experience God's perfecting process in our lives.

“The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us.”
— C. S. Lewis

I was 11 years old when I asked Jesus to forgive my sins and to be my Savior. A couple years after that I remember standing up one Sunday evening at church during testimony time and proclaiming to everyone present that "If God wants me to be a Pastor, I'll be available for Him." Years later as I was attending a missionary conference, God placed that call upon me. What a joy it has been and continues to be as I have the privilege to represent God in this capacity.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.
— John 3:16

Jackie & I have had the wonderful opportunity to serve in church planting for over 50 years. Our role was often helping to begin the church and work with them until they were established enough to hire a full time pastor.

We're also fortunate to have been married for 53 amazing years. Jack was raised near Port Huron, while I was raised near Gaylord. Jackie enjoy fishing; I enjoy eating them. We both enjoy going to the Lord's house with the Lord's people, and have enjoyed our nearly three years with the amazing people at Unity.
